Use the final mix and sung text
Upload the mix you will cut to and paste the lyrics in sung order, including repeats and ad libs. LyriSync aligns the words you supply; it does not transcribe.

Listen and correct
Play it back against the mix. Fix a typo in the lyrics, or nudge any word that lands early or late.

What lands in your composition

Choose a layout at export. All three build real text layers, so your typeface, animators and styling stay yours.

Layers
One text layer per cue, each with its own in and out point. Best when every line is animated on its own.
Source Text
One text layer for the whole track, with Source Text keyframed to each cue. At word level it reads as a word-by-word reveal.
Karaoke
One layer per line with a Range Selector animator that sweeps the fill colour across each word in time.

Two ways in

The panel
A free extension that docks in After Effects. Send an alignment from the browser and the layers appear in your open comp. Send again after a timing change and it replaces its own earlier layers instead of stacking a copy.

Prefer not to install anything? Export a .jsx file and run it from File, Scripts, Run Script File. Same layouts, same result.

What it needs: After Effects 2021 or newer. Version 18.4 and up. Mac and Windows. One file for both.

Can I export word-level or line-level timing to After Effects?

Yes. Pick the timing level, review the cues, then use the panel or export a JSX script. Word-level timing gives word-by-word Source Text and karaoke layouts; line-level timing groups the text into lines.

Will it overwrite the composition I am working in?

No. It adds layers to the comp you have open, and only creates a new comp when none is open. Sending the same alignment again replaces the layers LyriSync made, not the rest of your comp.

Does it assume my comp is 1920 by 1080?

No. Text boxes are sized as a fraction of the open comp's real width and height, so lines wrap inside the frame on square and vertical comps as they do on widescreen.

Do I need an acapella or the stems?

No. The finished mix is all you need. Upload the version you plan to cut to.

Can I use it with Premiere, Resolve, Final Cut or a karaoke player?

Yes, through the file exports. The panel is After Effects only. Everything else takes SRT, WebVTT, LRC, ASS, TTML, JSON or CSV: SRT and WebVTT are the safe choices for video editors, and ASS carries word-level highlighting if your editor reads it. One sync, exported as many times as you like.
